The Senate Project was thought up shortly after the 2012 presidential election.  An election in which Republicans not only lost the race for the White House, but also lost seats in the Senate, making the Democrats majority even larger.  The purpose of this organization is to get everyday citizens together in an effort to win enough Senate seats to take back the Senate in the 2014 midterm elections.
